The Argentine president, Javier Milei, had an informal meeting this Saturday with the elected president of Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz Pereira, in La Paz, where both coincided in advancing towards a common agenda within the framework of the presidential inauguration of the Bolivian head of state. The meeting took place hours after the official ceremony of assumption of office of the elected Bolivian leader, in a climate marked by the expectation of relaunching the bilateral relationship.
The dialogue between both leaders was recorded on a video that Casa Rosada disseminated. "I know what you are receiving and I can tell you from my own experience," Milei expressed at the beginning of the conversation, referring to the political and economic context that Pereira will face.
The Bolivian leader, for his part, responded: "Good advice will be given and we are good at receiving advice."
Throughout the meeting, Milei reiterated Argentina's willingness to cooperate in different areas of management. "They will coordinate it between the foreign ministers and we will have a nice meeting," Milei concluded.
As a symbolic gesture, both leaders exchanged gifts: Milei gave a leather bag, while Pereira delivered a "bolivianita" stone, in a violet tone, a color that sparked enthusiasm in the Argentine president for coinciding with that of his political space. "We are in favor of changing Bolivia and I think that is very important for everyone."
The exchange continued in a cordial tone. "In what you think we can help you, at your service," stated Javier Milei.
Pereira reciprocated the gesture and expressed interest in strengthening commercial ties: "We are also at your service. Argentina is always linked to our hearts," Pereira closed. "You are welcome." "Success and blessings," Milei expressed, to which the new Bolivian leader responded: "I will be calling you already. At some point I will have to go visit you to resume a common agenda. 20 years have ended and this is a new stage." "Cooperation for us with the five borders will be essential."
